The Initiative for Monitoring European Integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina has submitted a proposal to the Joint Committee for Human Rights of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina to held two special sessions of the committee. This proposal has been made taking into account the current developments related to:
- the appointment of the three ombudspersons,
- the preparation of a new law on the ombudsman for human rights, that should enter parliamentary procedure in fall 2015,
- the changes of the existing anti-discrimination law, by adopting it to EU legal standards, and
- the preparation of an statewide multi-annual anti-discrimination strategy
Based on these developments we have proposed two special sessions of the Joint Committee for Human Rights, one on the Ombudsman Institution and Ombudsman Law and the second one on the Anti-discrimination Legislation and Policy. Our proposal, with concrete content, names and areas, can be found HERE. We hope our proposal will be supported by the MPs sitting in the Joint Committee.
