The European Commissioner for Enlargement Johannes Hahn on Situation in BiH, May 2019.

Johannes Hahn presents Enlargement Package Report which covers Serbia, Montenegro, Republic of North Macedonia, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Commission Opinion on BiH’s EU membership application foresee some short-term and long-term obligations which Bosnia and Herzegovina must fulfill. The European Commission will deliver the Opinion to the European Parliament and the Council of Europe. Afterward, the Council of Europe should come to the conclusion on awarding a candidate status and determine the date of opening accession negotiations. Coordinator of the Initiative for Monitoring the European Integration of BiH, Rasim Ibrahimagić, stated that BiH should not expect anything from the European Union and start working on the reform processes. BiH has its obligations which need to be fulfilled, and the priority is forming the government.
