Sarajevo Open Centre sent four written submissions to the BiH 2016 Annual Report: three in the areas of Political Criteria – Human rights and minorities: LGBTI human rights, gender equality, and anti-discrimination, as well as a submission on Political Criteria – Governance, related to the Ombudsman Institution.
The Conference will be held on 30th and 31st March at the BiH Parliamentary Assembly in the Blue hall.

A coalition of civil society organizations that monitors the process of EU integrations in BiH said that the BiH Council of Ministers violated the principles of transparent work of the government by adopting the coordination mechanism and keeping the public in the dark about the move
We, civil society organizations, which are actively working to build a better and more democratic Bosnia and Herzegovina, clearly raise our voice against this attempt to place women in a disadvantageous position in political life.
If the disregard of democracy is the only way to become member of a community that has its foundation built on the foundations of the values of democracy, then we should ask the essential question – who does lead us on the road to the EU and is that the correct path for us?
The proposal abolishes the explicit prohibition which regulates that founders of associations and foundations can not be: the state of BiH, entities, cantons, cities, municipalities, local communities, government bodies and state-owned companies and funds.
By submitting the application the ruling coalition is not merely ignoring the reality of our country, but also the statements made by high-ranking officials of the EU who have made it clear that rushing this process is unwise.
We suggest that information on the issues discussed in the House of Representatives and its working bodies should be published on the Parliament’s official website.
